Preschool Extended Year Program Newsletter: “A Journey Through Space”
June 15, 2026
The Preschool Extended Year Program is officially in full swing, and what an exciting return it has been! After a five-year hiatus, we are proud to once again offer this meaningful summer experience for our youngest learners. This year’s program is launching students on a creative adventure through space—where imagination, discovery, and learning come together among the stars.

A special highlight of the program has been the engaging “travel through space” theme led by Aunty Katrina and Aunty Kanoe. Through storytelling, hands-on activities, and imaginative play, they are guiding students across galaxies of learning. From exploring planets to building rocket ships, children are actively immersed in experiences that spark curiosity and joy.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to support each child’s summer development. Students are engaged in project-based learning that strengthens early academic foundations while also emphasizing essential motor skills. Activities such as cutting, drawing, building, climbing, dancing, and interactive play are helping children grow in coordination, confidence, and independence.
Beyond academics and physical development, the program continues to nurture social-emotional growth. Children are learning to collaborate, share ideas, and build friendships in a supportive and structured environment—skills that are essential as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

It has been inspiring to see the excitement return to our classrooms and play spaces. The energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm of our preschoolers remind us of the importance of programs like this in shaping lifelong learners.
We are grateful to our educators, families, and staff for making this return possible, and we look forward to continuing this journey through the stars together.

Go Cardinals! ❤️💛
