St. Joseph School Shares Gratitude with St. Michael Parish

July 23, 2026

The St. Joseph School marketing team was honored to represent our school community at two Sunday morning Masses at St. Michael Parish in Kailua-Kona, extending heartfelt appreciation for the parish's unwavering generosity and steadfast support of Catholic education.

Head of School, Kumu Kipapa, began her thank you speech with a traditional oli, offering a sacred prayer that acknowledged St. Joseph School's presence in the sanctuary and set a reverent tone for the morning. Standing alongside her were members of the St. Joseph School marketing team—Michael Costales, Chrislyn Villena, and Kim Arianoff—the dedicated ambassadors committed to sharing the story of St. Joseph School and ensuring its mission and light continue to shine throughout our island community.

As Kumu Kipapa addressed the congregation, she reflected on the many victories and blessings experienced at St. Joseph School, recognizing that so much of the school's success has been made possible through the generosity of St. Michael Parish. She shared how the parish exemplifies the virtues of faith, hope, and love: faith in the enduring value of Catholic education, hope in the future that our students will help shape, and love through their generous support, which allows St. Joseph School to continue its proud legacy of serving families on Hawaiʻi Island.

The marketing team stood proudly beside Kumu Kipapa throughout both Masses, united in expressing St. Joseph School's deep appreciation to the parish community. Together, they served as the voice of gratitude for the countless blessings bestowed upon the school through the faithful stewardship of the St. Michael Parish ʻohana.

St. Michael Parish has faithfully supported St. Joseph School for many years and remains the school's largest contributor through the annual Second Collection. Their generosity is a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when a faith community comes together to invest in the next generation.

A heartfelt mahalo goes to Father Lio and the entire St. Michael Parish team for warmly welcoming Kumu Kipapa and the St. Joseph School marketing team. Their gracious hospitality and joyful spirit of service reflect an unwavering confidence in the Lord's abundant blessings and serve as an inspiring example of Christian stewardship in action.

To our Kona ʻohana, thank you for believing in our mission and for continuing to strengthen the ministry of St. Joseph School. Your generosity gives our school the confidence, courage, and resources to continue forming young people in faith, academic excellence, and service. Because of your faithfulness, the legacy of St. Joseph School continues to flourish, inspiring generations of students to lead with faith, serve with compassion, and make a meaningful difference in our community.

May God bless St. Michael Parish, Father Lio, and every parishioner whose generosity continues to make Catholic education possible for our students.
